The Mobility in Italy
The strong link with the Scuola Centrale Formazione and with its network of about 100 training centers located in 11 regions, has led ITACA to develop a model of management of experiences abroad very attentive to the personal needs and growth of young people involved.
Working in the context of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and achieving many of its strategic objectives through international cooperation, the Central Training School strategy is inspired by Community policies to promote the internationalisation of learning, and in particular the Bruges Communiqué which sets out the strategic objectives (2011-2020) on the internationalisation of the IeFP, and the Europe 2020 strategy.
The logistical organization of transnational mobility experiences in Italy passes through the Ithaca Cooperative, which completes the SCF training offer, guaranteeing a package of necessary logistical services requested by the sending partners.
Organizational Model
Preparation
ITACA strongly believes in the importance of preparing for the training mobility experience, for this reason it provides for virtual skypecall interactions aimed at preparing trainees. This preparation makes it possible to respond as best as possible to expectations and to define an effective and suitable training programme.
Traineeships
Once they have received the trainees’ CVs, ITACA and SCF identify the host CFP that starts searching for companies on the basis of the professional level, language skills and previous work experience of each beneficiary. They also organize job-shadowing activities and professional visits for teachers, trainers, staff and student groups.
Monitoring/Tutorage/Follow Up
Each associated entity has identified within its structure a coordinator and a tutor, reference points for trainees and responsible for monitoring activities, throughout the mobility process. On arrival, participants are welcomed by the host context with a Welcome Meeting, during which they are given a Welcome Kit, which is followed by accompaniment in the company. The entire experience is constantly monitored through shared evaluation tools.
Certificates
At the end of the traineeship, the SCF hands the participation certificate, which is also signed by the host company, to the participants and is involved in the preparation of the Europass Mobility certificate. Finally, the SCF prepares a final report containing all the information related to the experience just concluded.
Added Value
